As part of our topic 'Properties and changes of materials', we have been learning about what makes a solution or a mixture. Last week, we learnt about properties of materials including solubility. This week, we mixed sugar, salt and flour with water and had to decide whether they were mixtures or solutions. Our science vision is:

Be practical. 

The children were curious to find out which materials would dissolve, practical when testing and academic when explaining in their books using scientific vocabulary! Next week, we will be investigating how to separate mixtures.
