Absorbing materials
In year 2, we experimented with blue food colouring and absorbing different materials.
This week, we looked at different materials and how fast they took to absorb through blue coloured water using syringes.
The materials we used to carry out our investigation were: newspaper, fabric, foil, cotton wool, paper towels and cloth. We found out that foil is not an absorbent material whilst fabric and cotton wool are very absorbent materials!
Our science subject vision at St George's is:
Be academic.
Be curious.
Be practical.
Benjamin class were curious during this task to find out which was the most absorbent. They were practical in finding the answer. Finally, they were academic when drawing their own conclusions from their practical investigations. What a great bunch of scientists we have on our hands!
