Plant Growing!
Jemison class have been growing their own plants!
As part of our Science Vision Statement at St. Georges:
Be academic.
Be curious.
Be practical.
Year 1's Science topic for this half-term is Plants! On Monday, Jemison class learnt the steps of how to plant a seed so they can watch it grow and care for it over the summer term.
They were curious about how a tiny little seed would transform into a bean plant over the next few weeks and were making predictions on how tall it would grow and what their bean seed might look like.
Pupils were also able to look at other common plants and label the roots, stems, leaves and flowers.
It also links with our English curriculum as they will be writing a set of instructions on how to plant a seed.
Jemison class can't wait to watch their plant grow and take it home with them!
