On Friday 27th September 2024, the rain did not stop our Year 5/6 girls from taking part in our first School Games Tournament of the year. The tournament, which was held at St Dunstan's Jubille Grounds, saw schools from all over Lewisham compete for the title of the best girls football team. As always, St George's showed all the sporting spirits and were tremendous ambassadors. 

Be passionate. 

Be respectful. 

Be determined.

They got the furthest we have ever got in the girls' football tournament, coming third in their group! Their determination was clear in their final game, where they were losing 1-0, then, with two fantastic goals, they came back to win 2-1. Well done!!! It is no surprise at all, that St George's were mentioned as having great respect throughout the competition.

We look forward to 2 tournaments next week. On Tuesday 1st October, our U10 boys will be competing at Dulwich College, then on Friday 4th October, we have our Year 3/4 boys School Games competition. Keep a look out for the results next week.
