Year 5 explore The Natural History Museum

This week, Year 5 visited The Natural History Museum to enhance their knowledge on their science topic: Animals. including humans.

This week, Year 5 ventured into Central London to the famous Natural History Museum. This Museum exhibits a vast range of specimens from various segments of natural history. We were able to discover over 4.5 billion years of natural history.

Pupils worked in groups to complete their activity sheet featuring the museums' greatest finds. We had time to look at 3 zones in the museum: the blue, red and green zone. Pupils were most interested in seeing the dinosaur bones, British wildlife with evolution, and features of animals through classification.

Our curriculum vision statement for science is:

Be academic. Be curious. Be practical.
