Year 1 visit the Horniman Museum!

This week, Jemison Class had an exciting trip to the Horniman Museum for an Animals and their Habitats workshop, and what a fantastic day we had! 🦁🌿

We explored the fascinating world of animals, learning all about where they live and how different creatures adapt to their environments. The museum had some amazing displays, and we even got to touch some interesting objects to learn more!

The workshop was hands-on, and we were able to think like little scientists—being curious about the world around us, being practical by observing real-life examples, and definitely being academic as we learned so many new facts! 🧐✨

We have certainly lived out the calls to action in our Science Curriculum Vision Statement:

Be academic. Be curious. Be practical.

This trip helped us link our classroom learning to the real world. We’ve been exploring animals and their habitats in science, and now we know so much more about how each animal is perfectly suited to where they live.

Thank you to the Horniman Museum for such an amazing experience! We can’t wait to continue our learning back in class.
