This week in Kahlo Class, we have been exploring the traditions of the Lunar New Year! Through our activities, we have embraced our Early Years curriculum vision:

✨ Be an Explorer – We discovered how families around the world prepare for the Lunar New Year, learning about traditions, special foods, and the importance of welcoming a fresh start. In our home corner, we took on different roles, cleaning and decorating to get ready for the big celebration.

💪 Be a Trier – We worked together to plan our own Lunar New Year party! From deciding on decorations to thinking about what we would need for a special feast, everyone contributed ideas and showed great perseverance.

🗣️ Be a Talker – In the writing area, we put our ideas into words by creating invitations, lists, and cards. We practiced using our phonics skills and shared our thoughts with friends, growing in confidence as independent writers.

🎨 Be a Creator – The creative area was full of colour and excitement as we made beautiful lanterns, decorations, and Chinese dragons. Our artwork brought the classroom to life, and we had so much fun experimenting with different materials and designs.

It has been a fantastic week of learning, and we can’t wait to continue exploring, trying, talking, and creating next week!
