Preparing for Easter Together

This week, all our children from Years 1 to 6 enjoyed a very special visit to St George's Church to help us prepare for Easter.
As always, our visit to the church was a lovely opportunity to come together as a whole school and reflect on the meaning and traditions of this important time in the Christian calendar.
Our Faith Group led the worship, alongside Father Richard, who shared with us some of the key events in the Easter story. The children were shown real palm leaves as they learnt about Palm Sunday, and listened carefully as Father Richard explained the events of Holy Week.
We also explored the symbolism behind some traditional Easter foods. The children heard all about Easter eggs, hot cross buns, and simnel cake – and what each of these treats represents in the Easter celebration.
At the end of our visit every child was offered a palm cross and a small Easter egg to take home, if they chose to do so.
As always, our school culture shone through:
We are fun, we are together.
Happy Easter from all of us!
