St George's go the Distance in the TCS Mini Marathon for Schools, 2025

On Friday 25th April, 2025, all children in years 1-6 took part in the TCS Mini Marathon for Schools.
St George’s CE Primary School proudly took part in the nationwide TCS Mini London Marathon for Schools 2025, with children from Years 1 to 6 joining the fun and challenge of this inspiring event. In true St George’s spirit, the event reflected our school vision: "We are fun. We are together."
Pupils across all year groups took on the 2-mile course, either running or walking around the school grounds. The course was alive with energy, laughter, and a strong sense of community as classes teamed up across year groups, encouraging one another and working together to see just how many of them could complete the full challenge.
Whether sprinting to the finish or pacing themselves alongside friends, every child gave the event their full commitment, embodying our PE values of:
"Be passionate.
Be respectful.
Be determined."
It was heartwarming to see pupils cheering each other on, celebrating achievements big and small, and enjoying the day as one supportive school community.
Headteacher, Mr Janes, said:
"This event brought our whole school together in the best way. It wasn’t just about fitness, but about having fun, supporting one another, and showing true determination. We’re so proud of every child who took part."
The Mini Marathon has become a much-loved annual highlight, and 2025 was no exception. Congratulations to all our pupils for taking part with such positivity, enthusiasm, and heart.
An achievement for all the pupils at St George's to remember, with a certificate to show their success.

We look forward to taking 20 children to the TCS mini marathon, held at St James' Park on Saturday 26th April 2025.
