Animal Fun In Reception
Reception have really lived up our vision of Be an Explorer. Be a trier. Be a talker. Be a Creator. They have thoroughly enjoyed learning about wild animals this week as part of our topic 'Animals'.
In English, Reception have enjoyed sharing the story 'Monkey Puzzle', retelling it and acting it out. The children have worked hard to apply their phonics to writing for a range of purposes including; dangerous animal posters, Dear Zoo letters and an information page for our class book (which is very nearly finished!)
In expressive arts and design, the children have been persisting with using a variety of materials and techniques to create animal models.
Reception have also enjoyed exploring animal footprints and animal prints by observing carefully!
