Celebrating the Platinum Jubilee
A St George's 'Street Party' with hats, bunting, cake and music!
At St George's, our culture statement is:
We are fun. We are together.
On Wednesday afternoon, we lived out our culture statement whilst celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
During worship, we all learned why this is a historic occasion. Elizabeth is the first Queen to reach 70 years on the throne and therefore celebrate a Platinum Jubilee.
During the street party, we listened to the national anthem before lighting our Jubilee Beacons and eating together. Later on, we all had a dance and there was even an impromptu conga line formed! A fun time was had by all. Have a look below to see how we got on at the event.
