On Saturday 22nd April 2023, we took 20 children to the TCS Mini marathon. Children had to complete the 1-mile run crossing the famous finish line on The Mall.

After meeting at school, we took the train and tube up to Westminster to the Horse guards Parade. Here, many children wanted to see the horses and their guards. 

Once we got through, we had to put our running numbers on and have a quick snack before our run. The 1-mile run started at the Horse Guards parade, around St James' park then finishing on The Mall. 

All children who participated in this fun run met St George's P.E values brilliantly!

Be passionate. 

Be respectful. 

Be determined.

When running, the crowds were cheering and giving high 5's as they crossed the finish line. It was incredible to see so many parents in the crowd as well cheering them along and giving them that extra boost to cross the famous finish line. A special mention to Daniel in Year 4, who was the first in St George's to cross the finish line. 

Once completing the run, all children received a medal and needed the water to cool down! 

On Monday 24th April, the children shared their medals in assembly and explained what they had achieved!
