Ground, Air, Water.
A new term and a new topic in Macmillan nursery class.
We were all very excited to be back in nursery this week and start work on our new topic of Ground, Air, Water.
The first story for our topic is the traditional tale Jack and the Beanstalk. The children have been listening to, and reading the story, and are already retelling the tale using puppets and small world equipment.
We also decided to try and grow our own beanstalks - both indoors and out - and are looking forward to measuring how tall they grow. The children have loved discussing whether anyone's beanstalk will grow all the way up to the giant's castle!

A broad selection of beans!
Planting beans (and some small bean plants) outdoors
Planting our beans indoors in clear pots so we can monitor the growth of the roots and shoots
We musn't forget to water our beans - they need water and light to grow!
Labelling our pots - whose bean will grow into the tallest beanstalk?
