Repeated Patterns

In year 2, we have been looking at the work of William Morris. His work consists of repeated patterns reflecting natural objects such as birds, fruit, and vegetables.

This week, we made our own collagraph from different collage materials, including cardboard, card, string, straw and net. We used glue to piece the natural materials together. Some of us made a collagraph of a leaf whilst others made different fruit, flowers and even sunshine.

We then painted out our page and were able to use our own collagraph to complete some repeated patterns in our book. We reflected on what we could have done differently in our repeated patterns.

We certainly lived out our curriculum vision statement for Art:

Be creative.

Be proficient.

Be reflective.
