3D Sculptures!

Magnificent modelling in Year 1!

As part of our Art and Design curriculum:

Be creative.

Be proficient.

Be reflective.

In our Art and Design topic of 3D, pupils were asked to make their own inuksuk, which is a man-made stone landmark built for use by the Inuit and other peoples of the Arctic region of North America.

In order to re-create an inuksuk, Year 1 had to explore clay by pushing, pulling, rolling and pinching it. They were asked to make a range of pebbles of all different shapes and sizes. Once dry, they had to carefully place the pebbles on top of each other to create their own inuksuk.
