Serving to Victory!

The lucky St George's winners, who attended Summer tennis Camps at Old College Tennis Club.

We are delighted that our relationship with Old College lawn Tennis Club has continued and grown! During the summer term, Alex Heath (Head Coach), came to St George's to do two one-off tennis sessions - one with Year 4 and the other with Year 5. Here he identified children who showed great promise in the sport of tennis. Have a look back at the news story from the summer term to find out more! From that, 7 lucky children were offered places at the camps for free for one week.

During the week of 29th July, 7 children from across years 4 and 5 made their way to Dulwich every morning. Over the week, children learnt the techniques of all the key shots of tennis and how to incorporate their new skills into matches. Of course, there were also lots of fun games, where the players were able to beat the coaches ... multiple times. As always, they were incredible ambassadors of St George's and continued to show our P.E values, even though they were playing outside of school hours.

Be passionate.

Be respectful.

Be determined.

We would like to thank the committee at Old College Lawn Tennis club for such an incredible opportunity. We would also like to thank Alex Heath and Luke Hymas for their incredible coaching over the week.

We look forward to continuing to build relationships with local sports clubs.
