At St George's, our curriculum vision statement for Art and Design is:

Year 2 has certainly been living out this vision!

Last week, the children were introduced to contemporary artist and illustrator Beth Krommes, whose beautifully illustrated books we soon hope to feature in our Reading Corner!

The children explored a variety of different drawing media, including pencils, felt tips, charcoal, equisse, wax and oil crayons on different textured surfaces. We even tried using drawing ink for the first time! We then used our skills to create different lines to illustrate waves using the media we had explored. Next week we begin our final product!
