Funny Bones Fun!

A part of our topic 'All about me', Reception have been busy this week learning about our bodies!

In English, we have enjoyed the story 'Funny Bones' by Janet and Allan Ahlberg as well as the non-fiction text 'The Body Book' by Hannah Alice. We have been developing our communication and language by re-telling the story as well as in our new Doctor's Surgery role play area! We have been learning lots of new vocabulary related to the different parts of our bodies!

We have started phonics teaching this week and have learnt our Grapheme-phoneme correspondences for 's' 'a' 't' and 'p'.

In expressive arts and design, we have been experimenting with a range of media and materials to create skeleton and body pictures.

We have really lived up to our Early Years vision this week!

Be an explorer. Be a trier. Be a talker. Be a creator.
