Fantastic start to football!
Year 5 started this academic year by showing off their skills in our first topic of PE: Football!
Our first topic in PE this year is Football. Pupils started off by developing their skills of control and movement. We first played a friendly game of what we like to call 'football traffic lights'. This involves pupils listening to what colour is being called out and on command, doing the skill related to it.
We then had a go at developing our passing, receiving and saving techniques. Pupils worked with different peers and as a group to save and pass the ball.
We ended the lesson with mini-football games to assess the techniques of passing and control. Children really enjoyed having a run around with their learning!
Our curriculum vision statement for PE is:
Be passionate. Be respectful. Be determined.
All of Year 5 lived out this call to action this week!
