Firework Fun!

We had a busy time in nursery learning about Bonfire Night!

We got creative both outdoors, and indoors, creating firework artwork. We chalked large firework patterns on the floor outdoors, whilst indoors we used paint to create bonfire and firework inspired art work and crayons for smaller firework patterns.

We developed our awareness of mathematical shapes and names by talking about, and using, solid shapes to create some colourful rocket fireworks.

We also had lots of fun on the messy play table creating fireworks patterns!

Finally, we explored different firework inspired music, including Handel's 'Music for the Royal Fireworks' and created some very energetic firework dances using streamers.

Once again the nursery have certainly been living up to our Early Years Vision Statement:

Be an Explorer. Be a Trier. Be a Talker. Be a Creator.

What shape do I need next?

Messy - but lots of fun!

Round and round just like a Catherine Wheel firework!
