Imperial War Museum!

A couple of weeks ago, Best Class finished their History topic by visiting IWM!

Our curriculum vision statement for History at St George's is:

Be inspired. Be academic. Be reasoned.

Class trips are a great time for us to be inspired!

A few weeks ago, Best Class ventured to Waterloo and went to the Imperial War Museum to finish off their topic on the 'Battle for Britain'.

We started our visit by looking at the WW2 warfare level from submarines to the radars used to detect planes. The children searched for new facts to add to their growing knowledge of the topic.

We then went down to the WW1 section. In this we found lots of interactive displays to learn from and even got to dress up as a soldier. We also got to test our height to see if we could go to war or not.

When we finished, we had small talk about how people in London survived and what life was linked to WW2. We were able to hold real artifacts and learn about life.
