'Fast-astic' running!
Our champions from the Daily Mile in the Autumn term.
What a successful term it has been for the daily mile. Running the Daily Mile at St. George's is an essential part of promoting health and well-being amongst the pupils and now part of our daily routine. This simple, yet impactful initiative, encourages everyone to step away from their desks and engage in a refreshing burst of physical activity, boosting both mental and physical health. Regular participation helps improve fitness levels, enhance focus, and foster resilience, enabling students to tackle their academic and personal challenges with renewed energy. Beyond the health benefits, the Daily Mile cultivates a sense of togetherness and shared achievement, reflecting St. George's commitment to nurturing not just strong minds but also healthy, active lifestyles.
At St George's, we believe that every child is successful and we promote that every child should always be the best they can be. For the mile, all KS1 children tallied up all their miles and each child got a certificate. It is fantastic to see so many beating their previous best. In KS2, every child ran the mile at the beginning of the term and again at the end, trying to get a new personal best. All children showed great determination and passion, which is inline with our P.E vision:
Be passionate.
Be respectful.
Be determined.

On the Podium
As well as trying to achieve a personal best, we also added a small competitive element to see who reached the top 3 times in years 3/4 and 5/6. All the times were incredible and every child should be so proud of their achievements. However, only the top 3 could make the podium. Have a look at our winners for the Autumn Term:

Congratulations to all our winners. Who will make it onto the podium in the spring term?
