Shackleton Class: Travelling in time!

This week, Shackleton Class has been buzzing with creativity as we’ve taken on an exciting new creative writing task!

Shackleton Class dived into the world of imagination this week by creating their own short story. Our challenge? To imagine ourselves travelling in time and having incredible adventures in a world that’s yet to exist or existed before our time.

From futuristic cities in the clouds to daring missions on distant planets, the ideas flying around the classroom have been amazing. We’ve been working hard to bring these worlds to life with figurative language—painting pictures with our words using similes, metaphors, and personification.

This task links beautifully to our school’s English curriculum vision statement:

Be a reader. Be a writer. Be a communicator.

We’ve been drawing on everything we’ve learned about storytelling, sharing ideas with our classmates, and crafting our writing to engage our readers. We can’t wait to share our stories!
