Victorious Yellows!

On Thursday 13th February, Year 3 and 4 went to St Dunstan's Jubilee Grounds to take part in our annual House Football Competition.
St George's Annual Year 3/4 Mixed House Football Tournament: Yellow House Triumphs in a Thrilling Final
On Thursday, 13th February, the students of Year 3 and 4 at St George's School gathered for an exciting day of football at the St Dunstan's Jubilee Ground. The occasion marked the school's annual Year 3/4 Mixed House Football Tournament, where four teams, each representing one of the school houses— Blue, Green, Purple, Yellow, and Red—faced off in a thrilling competition of skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
The tournament kicked off with a round-robin format, where all houses played against each other in a fast-paced and action-packed series of matches. The teams displayed incredible passion and determination, truly embodying the PE values of:
Be passionate.
Be respectful.
Be determined.
The players gave their best performances, supporting one another and showing respect to both teammates and opponents.
After the round-robin matches, the competition moved into the semi-finals. In the first semi-final, Green House faced Purple House in a closely contested match. Green's strategy and teamwork shone through as they secured a hard-fought victory, booking their place in the final. Meanwhile, in the second semi-final, Yellow House took on Red House. With energy and persistence, Yellow House emerged victorious, setting the stage for an exciting final showdown.
The final match between Green and Yellow House was a spectacle of skill and determination. Both teams played with heart, embodying the core values of the tournament. In the end, it was Yellow House who triumphed, winning the match with a well-earned and decisive victory. The players celebrated their success, proud of their teamwork and the passion they had shown throughout the tournament.
As the tournament concluded, the PE values of Be Passionate, Be Respectful, and Be Determined were evident in every match played. The students demonstrated not only their footballing skills but also their ability to work together, show respect for one another, and persevere in the face of challenges.

Yellow House took home the coveted trophy, but every player left the field a winner, having contributed to a memorable and enjoyable day of sportsmanship and friendly competition. Congratulations to Yellow House, and a big thank you to all the teams for their outstanding effort and dedication!
