Spectacular Space Science Trip!

Best Class became scientist at the British Science Museum!
On Friday, Best Class embarked on an exciting trip to the British Science Museum in London, where they explored the wonders of science and technology in a hands-on and engaging way.
The highlight of the day was a fascinating science show all about space. The pupils learnt how light travels and its incredible speed, explored past beliefs about the solar system and how our understanding has evolved, and discovered how humans have explored the Earth and ventured beyond into space. The interactive show left the students in awe, inspiring many to think about careers in astronomy and space exploration.
After the show, the young scientists made their way to the Wonderlab, an immersive and interactive gallery designed to bring science to life. Here, they took part in a wide range of experiments and investigations. They explored forces like friction, pulleys, and levers, tested static electricity, built bridges, and experimented with circuits. The pupils also discovered the wonders of aerodynamics, sound waves, symmetry, and the properties of light, including reflection and refraction.
“I loved the hands-on activities, especially building a bridge and making it strong enough to hold weight!” said one excited student. Another added, “The science show made me think about how much we’ve learnt about space over time. I can’t wait to learn more!”
Teachers and staff praised the trip as a fantastic learning opportunity that brought science to life in an exciting and memorable way.
The visit to the British Science Museum was a truly inspiring experience for Year 6, reinforcing their love of science and discovery. Who knows? Perhaps one of these young learners will be the next great scientist, engineer, or astronaut!
We did this all through our Science Curriculum Vision:
Be academic.
Be curious.
Be practical.
