Shackleton Class Explores the V&A!

Shackleton Class had an unforgettable trip to the Victoria and Albert Museum in South Kensington!
Last week, Shackleton Class had an unforgettable trip to the Victoria and Albert Museum in South Kensington! The V&A is packed with incredible art from different eras, and we had the chance to explore it all—paintings, sculptures, fashion, textiles, and even intricate designs from all around the world. It was amazing to see how art takes so many different forms and how it has evolved over time.
We had a blast walking around in our groups, soaking in all the beautiful pieces and completing our activity sheets along the way. The activity sheets gave us the chance to really look closely at the details and think about the stories behind the historical art and sculptures on display. But the best part? The interactive exhibits! We loved getting hands-on and engaging with the museum in new and exciting ways. Whether it was exploring textures, learning about design techniques, or seeing how different materials feel.
This trip linked perfectly with our art curriculum vision:
Be creative. Be proficient. Be reflective.
We explored different styles of art, thought about the artists’ techniques, and reflected on what inspired us the most.
Shackleton Class is definitely feeling inspired after this adventure!
