🧡🎨 Jemison Class Explore Textiles in Art! 🎨🧡

This week, our wonderful Year 1 Jemison class began an exciting new unit in Art all about Textiles!

The classroom was bursting with creativity as the children explored how to make patterns using oil pastels with care and control. It was amazing to see their confidence grow as they experimented with lines, shapes and colours to create beautiful designs. ✏️✨

But that wasn’t all! The children then took their artwork to the next level by adding bits of fabric and colourful yarn. This helped them explore different textural effects, making their artwork not only lovely to look at but also interesting to touch! πŸ§ΆπŸ‘€

Throughout the lesson, the children truly lived out our St. George’s vision in Art:

➑️ Be Creative – They used their imaginations to design wonderful patterns and colourful combinations.
➑️ Be Proficient – They practised careful control with oil pastels and took their time choosing and placing fabric pieces thoughtfully.
➑️ Be Reflective – They talked about what they liked in their work, what they might change, and admired each other’s creativity. πŸ’¬πŸ‘

We are so proud of the enthusiasm and effort from Jemison class. We can’t wait to see how their textile artwork continues to develop! Watch this space for more brilliant creations! 🌟
