Dear St. George's families,
It was a pleasure seeing so many of you attend Parents' Evenings this week. We hope you found the progress reports presented by your child's class teachers informative and that you have some ideas of how to support your child at home.
Please try your best to make the time to help your child with their targets. We know how proud pupils can feel when they have worked on something at home to achieve even higher scores at school.
Yesterday, you will have received notification of our partial closure on Wednesday 1st February 2023, due to the Industrial Action by the teaching members of the NEU. Pupils in classes which are remaining open will receive a message via SchoolPIng today. We thank you all very much for your support at this time, as we recognise it will cause many of you inconvenience.
Finally, you will notice that we have lots of Food Technology sessions happening at the moment. We are really pleased to offer this provision at St George's and are proud to have developed our own specialist DT room, alongside our specialist cooking suite. A big thank you to Ms Hall, our DT lead, and all the teachers for their fantastic work. We hope you have enjoyed seeing some of the foods coming home. Check out the news stories in the coming weeks to see what the pupils have been getting up to.
As ever, we wish you the very best of weekends, full of rest and fun, ready for learning on Monday.
Mr Janes
