Dear St. George's families,
It has been a great first week back after half term.
We have all enjoyed speaking about the beginning of Lent. Pancakes have been made, flipped and eaten! See the news story below to find out a little more.
Next week, we are celebrating World Book Day on Wednesday. All pupils are invited to come dressed as a character from a book. As we always do, we want to remind you that costumes do not need to cost money. A little imagination goes a long way. We dress up to provide a starting point for conversations about reading, books and book characters. We had lots of excellent conversations last year and we look forward to many more this year too.
School Council have set a competition for World Book Day, which includes a task you can complete at home. Ask your child what it is and if they would like to enter and check out the SchoolPing letter for more details. Winners will be announced next week.
Finally, please check SchoolPing for communication about industrial action next week and how it is affecting school opening on Thursday.
Please be aware that these circumstances may also change as a result of talks with Unions at a national level over the weekend. If anything does change, we will inform you as soon as possible.
As ever, we wish you the very best of weekends, full of rest and fun, ready for learning on Monday.
Mr Janes
