Dear St. George's families,
A big thank you to everyone who attended one of our parents' evenings this week. It is so important we work together to ensure our pupils can live out our vision statement. We hope you have found the written reports informative and feel empowered to support learning at home.
A second thank you for all families working hard to ensure their child completes their home learning. The amount of pupils attending homework club has dramatically declined across the academic year and we know this will help your child's progress. A special shout-out to Year 6, who consistently have a 100% completion rate. We are so proud and know that they will be fully prepared for secondary school when the time arrives.
In the next couple of weeks, we have even more ways that we can live out our culture statement: We are fun. We are together.
Firstly, we have our Phonics Cafe coming up for Year 1 families to help you gain as much knowledge as possible about your child's upcoming Phonics Screener. Ms Faulkner and Miss Sarris are really looking forward to seeing as many parents as possible, for some biscuits, juice, learning and reading with your child.
Secondly, we will be hosting our very first Parent Association meet-up in the final week of term. If you are able to spare a little time to support the school across the year, then please attend. It is a great chance to help the school with fundraising so we can continue to gain access to the very best resources for our community. We look forward to seeing you there.
As ever, we wish you the very best of weekends, full of rest and fun, ready for learning on Monday.
Mr Janes
